Well, we usually just relocate them. Killing them is just such a hassle. So we take them around to the other side of the lake where they can't come back and we let them go.
But last night Lori and I decided we should not only trap one but we needed to document our endeavor and we needed to post the recipe for the "coon trap cuisine."
You will need something sticky and something crunchy. I used Easy Cheese this time but peanut butter is also an acceptable sticky food. I use cat food because it seems to be what they like.
It's important to keep your trap up off the ground so that you don't trap a skunk.
I used to keep the trap on a bench but they would just reach in and grab the plate or knock the trap on it's side and grab the plate, eat the food, and shred the plate, and leave a million paper plate pieces for me to pick up the next day.
Amy and I came up with the mobile coon trap concept. It's off the ground, and it can't easily be knocked over, the food can be placed up UNDER the whole trap so they can't reach in and grab it, and when a coon is caught you can wheel the whole thing around to the pick up to cart it off.
Lori about choked on her Bud Light when she saw my Go Hogs Go bumper sticker on the mobile coon trap. Hey, don't judge.
Please take a moment to sing with us: Bad boys, bad boys, wacha gonna do? Wacha gonna do when they come for you!
We were all standing outside in our p.j.'s this morning going "awwwww.... he's so cute." and then Joe reached down and it snapped at him.
He's outta here. But he will live to see another day. He just went to the other side of the lake.
Peace and Blessings. Life is good!

What a fun night!!! Peace and blessin's, peace and blessin's!!
