Meet Arthur!

Yesterday we had a new addition come into our home. Do you remember that Mazie wanted a Kitten?
We didn't exactly get a baby kitten.  But after meeting this little guy there was no doubt he was THE ONE.  I've never met a more loving cat.

Meet Arthur!

He is a rescue kitty from our local Humane Society.  He is 3 months old and has 7 brothers.  He was the last little boy to be adopted from his family.   He's been in a cage practically his whole life.

But he is Oh! So happy now!!!

The introductions went perfectly.  Puppy dog tails were wagging and Arthur was purring.  I don't think he stopped purring for 4 or 5 hours.  He is so very loving.  He hugs and gives lots of kisses and even the occasional love bite.

Fun things to play with everywhere!

He was so cute.  He began to explore once we let him out of his cage but the minute he got out of sight he would begin to meow.  He's never been alone before.  And then he started to run.  Once he figured out he could run he didn't stop.  I'm pretty sure he's never run before.  It was tricky, at least stopping was.  He kept running into everything.  And taking corners was a new task to master as well.

Arthur and the dogs ran circles through the house last night and every time the puppies got a little too excited Arthur would come running and leap in to my arms.  Still purring, of course.

We did consider changing his name, but I think he already knows his name. Once when he'd wandered off through the house he got back in my room and I called out "Arthur!" and he came running back to me.

Finally he sat down and it didn't take long for him to fall asleep.  It was a big day for him.  And for the first time in his life he went to sleep in a quiet, warm, house.  He slept under our bed last night and he slept all night long.

Little Mazie isn't so sure about all of this!  You can tell that she and Arthur are going to be friends... but it is a bit of an adjustment! This kitten knows no boundaries.  Mazie has a lot to teach her.
